About Duke Morehouse

A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Duke's first love was flying airplanes. Thinking a thoughtful brain and a slide rule could solve any problem, he soon discovered that even though that might be true it could be done so much faster with a computer. So began the turn in educational direction from aeronautical to software engineering. After a flying career and rating as Command Pilot, and twenty years of service, he settled into civilian and industry life as a software engineer, manager and project manager.
Self-described as over-educated and under-utilized, Duke has a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering (focused on application software development) and an MS in Systems Management (equivalent to an MBA). Through associations with the Software Engineering Institute and the Project Management Institute, he has also completed several industry education programs in Project Management and software development-related topics. This includes course work in CMM (Capability Maturity Model) and CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration), which was followed by hands-on experiences with process development, and integration measurement, with respect to CMM and CMMI. Coupled with this education is more than twenty years of industry experience in software development and organizational management.
Duke's spare time (if there is such a thing in his world) is spent remodeling or building homes, cabinet-making, golfing, or rating golf courses for the USGA.
